About me...

I'm a 20-something wife, coffee lover, semi-foodie and self-proclaimed guinea pig expert.

This is me enjoying chocolate, Weirdo for life.

A little history...

After graduating high school I opted out of the traditional college route and worked a couple years until I decided I was to be an Accountant. (Click here to read why I chose to be an Accountant) Fast forward to 2012 and I have my Associate's Degree in Accounting and I am immediately hired to a reputable credit union's headquarters in my hometown. Somewhere in the middle of all this I made the decision I would have bariatric surgery at 22 because I was tired of feeling unhappy in my own body. On 12/12/12, at almost 290 pounds, I had a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy to remove most of my stomach. You can read more about my surgery here and under any of my posts labeled "sleeve" or "surgery."

What I do and who's my teammate...

I work doing accounts receivable for a major winery/foods/resorts company owned by this movie producer you might have heard of :) I've been married since May of 2014, that's me and my lover Jose Antonio below. You can read out love story here.

My husband and I, he's the half and half to my coffee and the peanut butter to my jelly.

How my blog was born...

I started this blog as an attempt to document my surgery but now it's turned into something more! Since I am not crafty and the extent of my photography skills are limited to my iPhone and Instagram, I thought I could create a "digital scrapbook". I'm not the most riveting writer but this is my blog, I hope you like it!

And about my culinary adventures and misadventures...

I love to cook and bake and often times I come up with recipes in my head with what I think "sounds good." Sometimes my recipes actually come out edible and other times they come out a disaster.  I will post the succesful ones on here. I am not a chef, but I like food that tastes good and is made with love and from scratch. I also like to Yelp all the tasty (and not so tasty) foods I try. I'm a Yelp "Elite Member" (I see you laughing at me) and my Yelp page is right hurr.

Tony, My Family, Guinea Pigs, Docu-series, Documentaries, Red Velvet Cupcakes, San Francisco, Pals, Bracelets, Rose Gold, Starbucks Iced Coffees, Camping, Chocolate, Butter and Garlic and any combination thereof, Japanese Food, any Asian food, Sushi, Mexican Food, Round Table Pizza, Football, The 49ers, GS Warriors, Carbs, blogging, blog reading, Coffee, Sour Patch Kids, Accounting, Music, Cheese, Hikes, Baking, Cooking, Mojitos, Adventures, Traveling, History and Road trips are just dandy as long as AC, Snacks and plenty of Magazines are involved

 

Coffee makes me happy inside, it's liquid gold
