Weekend Story

Back to Back weekend story posts! I'm on a ROLL!

Friday
Friday I went to check in on my little Ches who had just had surgery on his bladder stones and was staying at the hospital for observation. Poor little man! After the vet I went home to Tony and came to my Momma's house for a while.

The snapchat from the vet's office, poor little man!

Saturday

They grow up so fast, PK is the one on the right

Saturday Tony and I took PK my wittle seester to her soccer game. They lost but she played well and so did her bestie. I was super proud of her because she has come a ways since she first started playing soccer. After the game we hit up In-N-Out for some tasty burgers and then came home and hung out for a bit. Later in the evening we had to take Chester to get checked on by the vet and from there Tony and I took PK to a family party of Tony's. We only stayed for a couple hours, PK felt uncomfortable. She wanted to spend the night and we went home and rented Transformers, Age of Extinction. PK only lasted halfway through the movie, children these days, they can't hang.

Sunday

Sunday it was donuts, Starbucks, breakfast and football at my Momma's house. The Niners won a tough game and I almost had a brain aneurism watching the dropped coverage and Jimmy Graham burn our secondary. AHHH Football, can't live with it, can't live without it.

We WON!

Back home we watched The Walking Dead, and I was kinda dissapointed my boyfriend Daryl Dixon wasn't in the episode considering he is the main reason I watch...

Today I had my first red cup of the season. I don't usually order hot drinks from Starbucks but I had a free reward so I got a Caramel Brulee Latte. #whynot

And tonite I shall make a Quiche!

Weekend Story - Football Edition

This post is not for the easily offended...

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post as last night I had to witness an unbearable Niners loss due to:
  • Extremely poor officiating
  • Turnovers/Interceptions
Nevertheless life goes on and I have to forget about this loss and look forward to the next game. At least Seattle lost! For those Football-saavy here are a couple of my favorite memes of the weekend...

Richard Sherman was beat by Phillip Rivers a couple times and blew his coverage... I guess he forgot to pop his Adderall before the game.

And on the subject of terrible officiating, the NFL refs gifted Seattle with a Touchdown that shouldn't have been.

And since we are talking about Seattle...

Just like somebody on Twitter said, "As a SF fan it's like you root for two teams: SF and whoever Seattle is playing that week." On top of that, Seattle's Defense gave me a -1 points on my Fantasy team this week. That's NEGATIVE 1 point. Sheesh.

That was essentially my Sunday, I did wifely woman things in the morning such as bake Cinnamon rolls, make eggs and hot links, clean and vacuum. As soon as I go to my Momma's house I become this un-ladylike trash talking-cursing Football fan and it's not real purty let me tell ya. I would like to believe deep down inside my Husband thinks it's sexy.

That was my Sunday...

My Saturday!

We ate donuts and drank coffee in the morning with my Momma, Tony's aunt, a family friend, my sister, Tony's sister and Martina. I hit up Le Walmart for a couple of things and I made this beautiful tray of Nachos for the Mayweather Maidana fight.

I used refried beans (courtesy of my Mother in Law), Gaucamole (made myself), melted Monterrey Jack cheese, Chicken, Steak, Sour Cream and Jalapenos. They were super good and I can't wait to make them again!

We had a nice time at my cousin and her husband's house watching the fight. She made Ceviche and there was tons of other food. We talked and talked and I spent time with my niece and Goddaughter, it was good times!

Today my goal is to get through work in a reasonably productive manner and go home and do laundry and cook!

Weekend Story

What a weekend!

Friday
Friday my Momma and her two friends came over to the house to celebrate Martina's birthday. She turned 50! Tony delivered roses to her work and I gave her a cute tourqoise bracelet.

I made Lasagna roll-ups divided into different small freezeable trays and I will post the recipe later today on an overdue edition of Mely Cooks Monday. I also made two layered Lasagnes in these small trays, so I had a total of 6 trays, each tray fits perfectly in a toaster oven and feeds 1-2 people. It's the perfect size for Tony and I! I baked one layered Lasagne for Tony Friday night and I gave a tray to my Momma.

Saturday
Saturday was a busy day! I got up and did a few chores with Martina and then Tony and I went and ran a couple of errands. I finally changed my last name at the credit union we bank at, haha always the procrastinator! We left to my coworker's housewarming party and had a blast! She just bought a beautiful new home and we were happy she had us over. Also, I learned my lesson and will never again mix red wine with white wine. I had a glass of red wine after exclusively having white wine and I was really sick the rest of the night after we got home. Never again red wine, never again.

Sunday
After a good night's sleep I was ready for my Sunday! We went to my Momma's house and helped her make breakfast. I made these Waffles and my Momma made Eggs, Bacon, Sausage and Coffee and then FOOTBALL!!! My Niners beat them Cowboys 28-17 which seems a lot closer than the game really was because of all the crappy calls the Refs made against the Niners. Ugh.. these Refs have it out for us. But seriously I really missed the feeling of my team scoring a touchdown.

Ahhh yes :)

After the game we went to Tony's aunt's house for a birthday BBQ for Tony's sister. We watched the Denver Broncos demolish the Colts and then we came home and relaxed until bedtime. Tonite is the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise and I will be making Orange Chicken with Veggies and Jasmine Rice for dinner! Although nobody likes Mondays I like the feeling of a fresh new week and a Monday night in relaxing feels real good.

Happenings

I slowed my roll on the cooking front.. Sunday night I made this Chili recipe that knocked my socks off and Tuesday I made Chicken Penne Alfredo, which was basically one of the most unhealthy dishes I make. Not my proudest moment.

On the work front we are in the middle of an audit and campaign is gearing up which means I will be drowning in work soon! Eeekks!

On the personal front, reading Pioneer Woman's love story with her cowboy has made me want to passionately kiss Tony every night because I am reminded of all the reasons I fell in love with him plus he's readily available since he's my roommate.

Also, one of my good pals Crystal had major surgery and I am looking forward to heading out to this place over the weekend to see how she's doing!

San Francisco, my beautiful San Francisco

Shamelessly, I have been obsessed with these new $1 Beefy Mini Quesadillas from Taco Bell. Me and Taco Bell go way back, I worked there for 2 years during my "late teens, early twenties - find myself - figure out what I am going to do with my life - reckless" time. I love Taco Bell! When it comes to fast food, Taco Bell takes the cake for me everytime.

Don't judge, we all have our weaknesses

And as of 2 seconds ago, my coworker Matt convinced me to play Fantasy Football on his league this year. I don't know why I do this to myself... I already become way too emotionally charged when it comes to Football. Sigh.

True Love - Marriage Divided

Today is the start of the NFL preseason which means that the regular season is just around the corner. Let me tell you a little something about myself. I LOVE Football. During Football season I will not leave my house on Sunday because I love watching Football all day at home. Not only do I love Football but I also love the San Francisco 49ers:

I watch every 49ers game and I become very upset when we lose. Especially if it's against the Seahawks (if you're a Seahawks fan, get off my blog NOW) I grew up in a family full of 49ers fans and I love the City of San Francisco and all it has to offer. During NFL Season I love to watch ESPN Sportscenter before bedtime because watching Football highlights make me happy and puts me to sleep. Monday mornings at work I have a hard time focusing because I like reading Football articles and all articles associated with my Niners. My favorite players are Patrick Willis, Frank Gore, Anquan Bolding and of course Kaepernick. Listen, I knew Kaepernick would be the starter way before they benched Alex Smith and always knew he was a star.

If you are at all familiar with the Bay Area then you are probably aware there is another city across the bay with it's own football team:

The Oakland Raiders
49er fans and Raiders fans usually don't get along. They don't like each other and usually there is lot of fighting involved when they have to play each other. I fell in love with and married a Raiders fan. Although I have persisted he doesn't want to betray his loyalty to Oakland (even though the Raiders SUCK!) and during football season we will be a marriage divided. This will be our first Football season as a married couple and hopefully we don't end up divorcing.

So there you have it, my one true love before Tony. My 49ers <3
